Apple is said to be working on its next-generation iPhone 18 series of smartphones. Now a new online leak suggests that the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may feature a significant upgrade to their front-facing cameras. According a Weibo leak, Apple iPhone 18 Pro models are said to feature a 24MP selfie camera. If the leak is believed to be true the this change will mark a notable jump from the 18MP selfie cameras present in the iPhone 17 series.
Along with this, the report also adds that Apple could bring a smaller Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Some of the components of the FaceID may be moved beneath the display which will result in a sleeker and less obtrusive design.
It is also tipped that the upgraded sledges camera may remain exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro models. This would further differentiate the Pro line as Apple’s premium offering, appealing to users who prioritize photography and video quality.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max expected launch
Apple generally announces new iPhone models at its Fall event in September. This is rumoured to change in 2026. According to reports, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in the typical September timeframe. However, the standard iPhone 18 may be skipped at the September event this year. As per reports, it may be unveiled next year in March along with iPhone Air 2.
New A20 Pro chip may power the iPhone 18 Pro Max
Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, which will be the company’s first processor manufactured using a 2nm process, is expected to power the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Additionally, the chip will employ “Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module” (WMCM) packaging, making it more compact, powerful, and energy-efficient than earlier iterations.
Moreover, Apple may switch from third-party chips to its own modem for the first time in the Pro models. This modification should greatly extend battery life, especially when paired with the A20 Pro’s powerful processor.
