Mika Zibanejad brings a hot streak into March at the perfect time for the Rangers’ playoff push. The Swedish center has recorded at least one point in five of his last seven games with three goals and two assists during that span.
Zibanejad has piled up 12 goals since December 31, a total tied for the eighth most in the NHL over that stretch. His recent surge has him positioned for another strong March, a month where he has historically dominated throughout his Rangers career.

The 31-year-old leads New York with 24 goals and 12 power-play tallies through 58 games this season. He ranks second on the roster with 53 points and 29 assists while winning a team-high 405 faceoffs in the circle.
Zibanejad holds the Rangers franchise record with 120 career power-play goals.
He became the first active player to lead an Original Six franchise in that category, cementing his place in hockey history. His 12 power-play goals this season rank tied for fifth in the NHL. Among Swedish players in league history, Zibanejad sits tied with Nicklas Lidström for fourth with 132 career power-play marks.
The Huddinge native recorded his 338th career goal on February 28, surpassing Henrik Zetterberg for seventh most among Swedish players all time.
He needs just five more goals to catch Filip Forsberg for sixth place on that list.
Zibanejad has scored 274 goals as a Ranger, ranking fifth in franchise history. He sits six goals away from tying Adam Graves for fourth place on the all-time list. He also ranks fourth in franchise history with 236 power-play points and needs one more to tie James Patrick for third.
His nine hat tricks as a Ranger are tied for the most in franchise history. Since the 2019-20 season, Zibanejad has recorded 41 goals and 86 points during the month of March. Those totals rank tied for sixth and tied for eighth, respectively, among all NHL players in March games over that span.
The Rangers’ center has scored the first goal in eight games this season, tied for the most in the league. His 59 career game-opening goals as a Ranger are tied with Chris Kreider for the second most in franchise history.
Zibanejad has also notched 38 game-winning goals in his Rangers career, ranking seventh on the franchise list. He recorded two hat tricks this season, making him one of nine players league-wide with multiple three-goal games.
