Detroit sports fans will soon have a new place to watch their teams. Ilitch Sports + Entertainment has announced the launch of Detroit SportsNet (DSN), which will become the new year-round home for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. The Tigers will move to the new network beginning with the 2026 MLB season. The Red Wings will join starting in the 2026–27 NHL season.
This change comes after both teams decided to leave FanDuel Sports Network and its parent company, Main Street Sports Group, last month. Now fans not only know where games will air, but also how much it will cost to watch.

Detroit SportsNet will offer two subscription options. Fans can pay $19.99 per month or choose a yearly plan for $189.99.
The annual option saves just under $50 compared to paying monthly for a full year.
There will also be a limited trial period. Fans who sign up between March 2 and March 22 will not be charged until April 1. That means subscribers can watch the Tigers’ season opener in San Diego along with four additional regular season games before deciding whether to continue.
The network will be powered by MLB Media. Tigers games will stream through the MLB app, making it easy for fans who already use the platform.
However, streaming details for Red Wings games are still being finalized.
Even though the channel is new, the broadcast teams will stay the same. Jason Benetti and Dan Dickerson will continue leading Tigers coverage.
They will be joined by analysts Andy Dirks and Dan Petry. On the hockey side, Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond will remain the familiar voices of the Red Wings when the team moves to Detroit SportsNet.
According to Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, more details about where Detroit SportsNet will be available on cable, satellite, and over-the-air providers will be announced in the coming months.
For now, fans have clarity on three important points, when the switch happens, how much it costs, and that the trusted broadcast voices are not going anywhere.
