Bihar Government Formation: Framework Expected Within Days

Bihar’s new cabinet formation is underway as the NDA’s decisive victory sets the stage for government formation before the current assembly term ends on November 22, 2025. Union Minister Chirag Paswan has indicated that the framework for the new government could be finalized within 24-48 hours.

Chirag Paswan’s Timeline

Union Minister Chirag Paswan revealed that discussions about the cabinet formation are progressing rapidly. “It will happen very soon. I think discussions are ongoing from today to tomorrow. I believe there will be clarity about the shape of the government,” Paswan told reporters.

“I feel that by today or tomorrow, the framework will be ready. The government needs to be formed before the 22nd of November.”

Election Results Breakdown

The NDA’s impressive performance gave them a three-fourths majority in the house. The ruling coalition’s allies showed strong results with Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) winning 5 seats and Rashtriya Lok Morcha securing 4.

The opposition Mahagathbandhan managed only 35 seats, with RJD winning 25 and Congress 6. Other parties like CPI(ML)(L), Indian Inclusive Party, and CPI(M) won one seat each.

Meanwhile, AIMIM secured 5 seats while Jan Suraaj failed to open its account in the assembly.
