She completed the outfit with a pair of grey flannel Manolo Blahnik stilettos for that refined, tailored look. Dolce & Gabbana is a fashion house that Melania and the Trump family have often worn on high-profile occasions.
While we have seen politicians fit into pantsuits quite often, First Ladies rarely wear suits to the State of the Union, and Melania’s decision to go with a sleek pantsuit generated quite a buzz online, with several social media users praising her style and calling the fit “iconic.”
She arrived at the Capitol alongside President Trump and members of the Trump family, including their children, and was seated in the gallery to watch the address.
Ivanka Trump, who also attended the address, made a statement in a knee-length ombre grey and black pencil skirt. She paired it with a matching blazer jacket. The outfit was from Oscar de la Renta.
