Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) commissioner Yashpal Meena on Monday chaired a review meeting to assess sanitation, safety and development protocols across the city.
During the meeting, Meena directed executive officers, executive engineers and sanitation inspectors to conduct field visits in their respective wards to verify the condition of manholes.
He instructed that damaged manholes must either be repaired or replaced without delay, and proper documentation of the action taken must be submitted to the headquarters.
The civic administration also ordered a comprehensive inspection of building hoardings and banners to ensure strict compliance with building bylaws. PMC will issue notices and initiate legal proceedings against individuals or agencies found violating these norms.
The meeting further resolved to strictly enforce the municipal corporation regulations of 2014 concerning the sale of meat and fish. Special teams will be constituted to carry out inspections and prevent the sale of meat and fish in open spaces and on public streets, in line with the prescribed regulations.
Meena emphasised that all officials must deliver results within the stipulated timelines and ensure visible improvement on the ground.
The additional municipal commissioner, deputy municipal commissioner and engineers of various departments were present at the meeting.
