Pankaj Tripathi’s village-themed holiday home in Mumbai is a hidden gem tucked in Madh Island

They say if you want a fairytale, you will have to make one, and that is what the National Award-winning actor Pankaj Tripathi did, when he built his house ‘Roop Katha’ in Mumbai. The actor said he was searching for a small village in Mumbai, a place where he could find calmness amid all the chaos, and he found it in his holiday home in Madh Island.

The ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ fame star, who is known for his versatility and strong screen presence, believes in leading a simple life, and it is reflected in his holiday home. The actor, back in 2023, gave a virtual tour of his village-themed holiday home in Mumbai, and made everyone a fan of his lifestyle. Let’s walk down memory lane and have a look at the haven that Tripathi created for himself.

The Grand entrance

The grand entrance of Pankaj’s house is all about regal-style exterior design with pillars, complemented by spacious lawns. The all white scheme adds more grace to the property.

Classy interiors

During the virtual tour, Pankaj Tripathi flexed two beautiful artifacts that he received as gifts from the Divisional Forest Officer of Kaziranga National Park. These were a one-horned rhino and a tusker, and a rosewood dining table, which was by the artisans from Mysore.

The beauty of the interiors multiplies when the natural lighting hits at the right spot through the large windows.

Kitchen with earthy elements

As the tour continued, the next stop was Pankaj Tripathi’s kitchen. Fully equipped, spacious, and the perfect place to cook and unwind. One of the iconic things about the kitchen is a huge window, which is a genius idea. The ‘Mirzapur’ star said that after preparing pakodas in the kitchen, they pass them to the garden through the very window.

Another element in the kitchen that catches attention is a clay pot. The actor revealed he prefers to have cold water from earthy pots over refrigerated water.

Last but not least, there is a mud stove for preparing authentic traditional meals.

The lush green outdoors

The garden of Pankaj Tripathi’s house is a beauty to behold. The lush greenery is like a sight to sore eyes. The actor has tall trees all around, and enjoys seasonal produce like mango and kathal from his garden. The sprawling area also works perfectly as a bird-watching spot and a football field, when and as needed.
