‘Dhurandhar 2’: AICWA LASHES OUT at Aditya Dhar’s production house for violation of norms amid BMC blacklisting proposal

After the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) proposed the blacklisting of Aditya Dhar’s production house for violating norms on the sets of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ in Mumbai, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) issued a strong statement.

AICWA releases official statement on violations of norms on ‘Dhurandhar 2’ set

Responding to the recent developments of repeated violations during the shoot of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ in Mumbai, the AICWA condemned the safety lapses during filming. According to the Moneycontrol report, Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the president of the association, called the violations “alarming” and sought strict accountability. He emphasized that “the life, safety, and dignity of film industry workers, technicians, and laborers cannot be compromised under any circumstances. ”

The association supported the BMC’s decision and urged for strict enforcement of rules to assure the safety of crew members of the movie.

What is the issue?

According to the reports, after assuring the civic body that no inflammable materials would be used during the shoot, the film team utilized them. Reportedly, they shot on a terrace and used two generator vans without any prior permissions. Cops even intervened and seized the inflammable torches from the location.

The BMC has also initiated action to forfeit the Rs 25,000 security deposit submitted for the permits and has proposed imposing a Rs 1 lakh penalty on the production house.

Ward A office has proposed blacklisting Dhar’s production house, B62 Studios, from seeking further permissions for shooting in the city.

Meanwhile, the ‘Dhurandhar 2’ team has not yet made any official statement about the issue or clarified their side of the story.
