TN TET 2026 registration begins for working teachers at trb.tn.gov.in: Direct link to apply here

: The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Government of Tamil Nadu, has started the online registration process for Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TN TET) 2026. The examination is being conducted only for working teachers across the state.

Eligible teachers can apply online through the official website trb.tn.gov.in. No offline applications will be accepted.

Who can apply for TN TET 2026?

The TN TET 2026 is meant only for in-service teachers who were appointed on or before September 1, 2025, and are currently working as:

  • Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT)

  • BT Assistants

  • Block Resource Teacher Educators (BRTEs) and equivalent posts

  • Special Education Teachers and similar cadres

Teachers working on time-scale pay, consolidated pay, or part-time basis in government, government-aided, and recognised private schools in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.

Serving teachers who are applying for promotion are also required to appear for this examination.

    April 10, 2026

    April 11 to April 13, 2026

  • TN TET Paper I exam (tentative):

    July 4, 2026

  • TN TET Paper II exam (tentative):

    July 5, 2026

    Objective type (OMR-based)

  • Total questions:

    150 Multiple Choice Questions

  • Exam duration:

    3 hours

  • Total marks:

    150

  • General category:

    60% (90 marks)

  • Backward Classes (BC), Backward Class Muslims (BCM), Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities (MBC/DNC), Persons with Disabilities (PwD):

    50% (75 marks)

  • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar (SCA), Scheduled Tribe (ST):

    40% (60 marks)

Candidates who secure the qualifying marks will be issued the TN TET Eligibility Certificate.

Application fee details

Application fee for all candidates is Rs 600 and application fee for SC, SCA, ST, and Differently Abled candidates is Rs 300.

Separate applications and fees must be paid for Paper I and Paper II.

The fee must be paid online only using net banking, debit card, or credit card.

How to apply for TN TET 2026

Candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official TRB website at trb. tn. gov. in

  2. Apply through online mode only

  3. Fill in all details carefully

  4. Upload required documents such as photograph, signature, service certificate, and educational certificates

  5. Pay the application fee online

  6. Submit the application before April 10, 2026

TN TET 2026 hall tickets will be released online only. Exam centres will be allotted across districts in Tamil Nadu, and candidates must attend the exam at their own expense,
