Naga Chaitanya opens up on Nagarjuna’s influence; Says legacy inspires not pressures

Naga Chaitanya has recently opened up about the constant comparisons he faces as the son of veteran actor Nagarjuna.

In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times the ‘Thandel’ actor revealed how he perceives his father’s towering legacy and the expectations that follow him.

Naga Chaitanya explained, “I view my father’s legacy as an inspiration rather than a benchmark for comparison. My journey is about carving out my own path and creating a set of stories that are uniquely mine.”

Naga Chaitanya on roles that shaped him

While discussing the evolution of his craft Naga Chaitanya offered insight into the films that challenged him the most and he pointed to ‘Love Story’ as a milestone.

He shared, “Love Story was by far both the most challenging and rewarding.

it pushed me emotionally. The project had also left a lasting impact on how I perceive relationships and resilience. ”

Naga Chaitanya also said that projects like ‘Thandel’, ‘Majili’, and the thriller ‘Dhootha’ have also shaped him in significant ways. Each of these roles helped him dive deeper into human emotions. The actor stressed that he is more committed than ever to exploring stories that allow him to grow along with keeping audiences emotionally connected.

Naga Chaitanya revisits earlier comments on comparisons

Naga Chaitanya also recalled a 2022 conversation in which he discussed the frequent comparisons with his father. He had described those comparisons as positive even affectionate.

The Telugu actor mentioned that he has always admired his fathee Nagarjuna deeply and sees him as someone he looks up to. He recalled moments when both of them attend interviews together and shared a lighthearted exchange. Naga Chaitanya had said that whenever a woman walks toward them they playfully guess who she wants a picture with.

In most cases he admitted it is nearly always with his father.

Actor shares his biggest fear as an artist

During the latest interview Naga Chaitanya also revealed the fear that weighs on him the most. He stressed that his greatest concern is failing to connect with the audience through his performances. The pressure does not come from legacy but from the responsibility he feels toward moviegoers.

He believes that staying true to his creative journey is the only way for building a good career.
