PSSSB excise and taxation inspector recruitment 2026: Application for 197 posts ends tomorrow; direct link to apply here

The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) will close the online application window for the Excise and Taxation Inspector recruitment 2026 tomorrow, March 6, 2026. Candidates who have not yet applied must complete their registration before the deadline.

This recruitment drive is being conducted under Advertisement No. 01/2026. A total of 197 vacancies have been announced for the post of Excise and Taxation Inspector.

The online application process started on February 14, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates must submit their forms through the official website before the closing date.

The board has clearly stated that no new applications will be accepted after March 6.

Candidates must complete the entire process before the deadline.

The board has advised applicants to carefully check all details before submitting the form, as mistakes in the application may lead to rejection. Information such as name, date of birth, category and educational qualifications must match the details mentioned in official documents.

Applicants should also save a copy of the submitted application form and the fee receipt for future reference. Corrections may not be allowed after the final submission.

Vacancy details and eligibility criteria

Under this recruitment drive, 197 posts have been notified for the position of Excise and Taxation Inspector.

To apply, candidates must:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university

  • Have studied Punjabi at the matriculation level

  • Possess a basic computer qualification as mentioned in the official notification

The minimum age limit is 18 years, while the maximum age limit is 37 years. However, age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates according to Punjab government rules.

Applicants are advised to read the official notification carefully to confirm that they meet all eligibility conditions before applying.

Selection process and exam pattern

The selection process will include a written examination followed by document verification. There will be no interview stage.

The written exam will carry 100 marks, be objective in nature, have a duration of two hours, and negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied for every incorrect answer.

The question paper will include topics such as General Awareness, Punjab history and culture, Reasoning, Arithmetic, Computer knowledge, Language proficiency in Punjabi or English.

Candidates should prepare according to the syllabus mentioned in the notification.

With the application deadline ending tomorrow, eligible candidates are advised to complete their applications as soon as possible to avoid last-minute issues. The board is expected to announce the examination date after the application process closes.
