Rajinikanth wins service tax case

Veteran actor Rajinikanth has received relief in a long-running service tax dispute related to his commercial property in Chennai. The Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) cancelled the earlier order that asked him to pay Rs 56.84 lakh as service tax for leasing the building to Vasantha Bhavan between 2007 and 2012. The tribunal ruled that the property was rented for hotel operations, which qualifies for tax exemption under the Finance Act. With this decision, the demand issued by the tax department against Rajinikanth has been officially set aside.

‘Thalaivar 173’ script locked

Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Thalaivar 173, directed by Cibi Chakravarthi, has taken a major step forward, with the script and screenplay now officially locked. The team has completed the writing stage and is moving ahead with the next phase of production.

With the script finalised, preparations are underway to begin shooting in April. The much-awaited film is currently being planned for a grand Pongal 2027 theatrical release.

Nazriya Nazim joins ‘Suriya 47’ shoot

Actress Nazriya Nazim has officially joined the shoot of Suriya 47, starring Suriya and directed by Jithu Madhavan. She shared the update on social media after receiving a welcome gift hamper from Suriya and Jyotika. The hamper included flowers and a note warmly welcoming her to the sets. With Nazriya joining the schedule, the much-awaited film has gained fresh excitement among fans.

Mammootty–Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Padayaatra’ completes shoot

The shooting of Padayaatra, starring Mammootty and directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan, has officially wrapped up. The entire film was completed in a single 40-day schedule that began on January 23. Mammootty confirmed the wrap by sharing a crew picture on social media with the caption, “#Padayaatra PACK UP!!!”. The project marks the reunion of Mammootty and Adoor Gopalakrishnan after more than three decades, creating strong anticipation among fans.

Chiranjeevi graces Surya Vikramaditya’s wedding
