Like millions of married women in the country, actress Shraddha Arya has also been preparing to celebrate Karwa Chauth, a festival dedicated to Goddess Parvati. This year, the festival, where wives keep a day-long fast for the well-being and long life of their husbands, is extra special for Shraddha as it is the first one after she embraced motherhood. She welcomed her twins, Shaurya and Siya, in November 2024, with her husband, Rahul Nagal.

Taking to her Instagram stories on Thursday, October 9, Shraddha gave a sneak peek into her preparations for the festival, which is being observed today, October 10. Dressed head-to-toe in a yellow traditional outfit comprising a short kurta and sharara, the Kundali Bhagya actress was seen sitting on a couch while two mehendi artists were applying henna on her hands. She posted the picture tuned to the song Pakistani Suit by Chandra Brar.

In the next story, Shraddha was seen having her food, which is called sargi, before sunrise, marking the start of her fast. Her meal included some paranthas, a sweet dish, and a bowl of cut fruits. Her hand was partially visible in the frame, showing her mehendi, which featured her husband’s name. She posted the photo with a pink heart emoji.

It’s A “Working” Karwa Chauth For Shraddha Arya

In another update from her day, Shraddha revealed that it is a “working” Karwa Chauth for her this year. She shared a video on her account from inside a car, likely taken while she was commuting to her workplace. Wearing a red kurta set sans any jewellery, she looked effortlessly elegant. In the caption, she mentioned, “It’s a working Karwa Chauth!! Fasting for love, working for passion.”

Just like other women who are fasting today, Shraddha will also break her fast after moonrise. The ritual will begin with prayers offered to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. Then, women would gaze at the moon through a sieve or channi and then look at their husbands’ faces through the same sieve. After offering water to the moon, the husbands will give their wives the first sip of water and a morsel of food, breaking their fast.

What’s Shraddha Arya Up To These Days?

After announcing her pregnancy, Shraddha Arya, who is known for her roles in Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, Tumhari Paakhi, Dream Girl and Kundali Bhagya, decided to take a hiatus. Months after giving birth to her twins, she was seen on the screen in an episode of Laughter Chefs 2 in July.
