PMC gears up for cleanliness survey

Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched a training and orientation campaign in preparation for Swachh Survekshan 2026, focusing on solid waste management and used water management systems.

The civic body is conducting phased training for officials, sanitation workers, private agencies and social organisations. The initiative aims to align the city’s sanitation infrastructure and workforce with national benchmarks.

The programme commenced on Feb 20 with a session for technical and administrative officers on solid waste strategies. On Feb 24, a workshop was organised for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society organisations to encourage community participation.

On Feb 25 and 26, sessions were conducted for sanitation workers under the National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem programme. These sessions addressed safety protocols and health standards across various city circles.

A session for private service providers is scheduled for Friday, where standard operating procedures, reporting mechanisms and service quality parameters will be discussed.

PMC commissioner Yashpal Meena directed all concerned officials and agencies to participate in the sessions. The civic administration stated that the training aims to improve operational coordination, transparency and preparedness for the upcoming national survey.
