Kirti Kulhari, widely appreciated for her powerful performances in ‘Pink’, ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, ‘Mission Mangal’ and the series ‘Four More Shots Please!’, is gearing up for yet another compelling role. The actress began shooting last year for director Rakesh Sain’s debut feature, ‘Chakor Ban’.
The film’s unusual title has already sparked curiosity among cinephiles, and now reports suggest that Kulhari will be seen in a completely new avatar — as the main antagonist.
Rakesh Sain steps into the spotlight
According to Variety India, Kirti Kulhari will play a negative role in the film. ‘Chakor Ban’ marks the directorial debut of Rakesh Sain, who brings decades of industry experience to the forefront.
For over 20 years, Sain has worked closely with filmmaker Sriram Raghavan as an assistant and associate director. His credits include acclaimed thrillers such as Ek Hasina Thi, Agent Vinod, Badlapur, Andhadhun, and Merry Christmas.
Sain has also explored storytelling independently. He directed a segment titled ‘Nano So Phobia’ in the anthology film ;Zindagi in Short’. With Chakor Ban, he now takes full creative charge with his first standalone feature.
Kirti Kulhari’s expanding creative journey
Alongside ‘Chakor Ban’, Kulhari has completed another significant milestone. She recently wrapped filming for her debut production venture, ‘Kinare’. Written and directed by Akbar Azam Quadri, the film features Rajeev Siddhartha, Ravi Taneja, and Alka Amin in key roles, with cinematography by Arjun Sundarram.
‘Kinare’ is currently in post-production and is expected to release later this year. The project marks a deeply personal step for Kulhari as she balances creative control behind the scenes with her performance in front of the camera.
