According to various reports, nothing had been confirmed about the second installment; however, as per recent reports, a second film is already in the works!

As per reports shared by Variety, the second installment is officially underway now since the production house has given its go-ahead.
Not only that, but a tentative release date has also been announced! The film, if everything goes according to plan, will be released on July 27, 2027.
While there is a lot of time till the official release, the news has still sent fans of the film into a frenzy. The second film will be released around two years after the first film’s release in April.
It has been reported that Jess Hess, who was in charge of the first installment, will be making his return as the director for ‘Minecraft 2,’ while Chris Galletta will be co-writing the official script with him.
As per Box Office Mojo, the first film garnered major success across the world. It earned 162 million USD in the US, while it collected around 312 million USD globally alone in its opening weekend. By the end, the box office numbers had risen to a whopping 957 million USD globally. After this, it was also shared that the film has managed to become the second-highest-grossing Hollywood film of 2025 after ‘Lilo & Stitch,’ which earned 1.03 billion globally.
