Singer-turned-actor Lisa Mishra, who made her acting debut with the series ‘Call Me Bae,’ has revealed new details about its second season. Lisa is currently filming Season 2 alongside lead star Ananya Panday. She now confirmed in an interview with Mid Day that the team has already completed nearly half of the shoot. The production is expected to wrap up by late March. Returning to her character Niki, a news producer, has made the new season especially meaningful for her.
Balancing acting commitments with a full music schedule
Lisa is navigating one of the busiest phases of her career, and besides filming, she continues to perform live, record new tracks, and spend long hours on set. The schedule is demanding. Yet she describes it as deeply rewarding. For her, switching between studios, concerts, and camera setups has become a dynamic rhythm.
Music sharpened her acting approach
Lisa shared in the interview, “I don’t see acting as a pivot at all or a detour to anything. It genuinely feels like an expansion of who I already am as an artist.” She explained how songwriting helped her live inside emotions and understand subtext. “As a songwriter, I’ve always lived inside emotions, understanding silences, subtext, heartbreak, joy, and everything in between. When you write music, you’re constantly asking yourself why a feeling exists and how it manifests and how to emote that with sound, your voice, the lyrics, etc.
, and that process has deeply informed my acting. It’s helped me add layers, nuances, and honesty to my performances. ”
Landing ‘Call Me Bae’ was a hard-earned breakthrough
Lisa also reflected on how significant the first season was for her. She said, “Call Me Bae came into my life after years of having tried to bite the bug of acting, something I tried extensively for years to be part of.” She explained that securing the role wasn’t easy. “When it did come along, it fell into place, not without the struggle to land that first acting job, and gave me the confidence to trust my instincts as an actor because it finally paid off.”
Season two brings fresh energy
Looking ahead, Lisa feels even more connected to her character and the second season. “Season 2 feels even more exciting. I’m more present, more fearless, and more curious. It’s been such a beautiful, intense process balancing it with my live shows and getting back into the studio to record new music.”
‘Call Me Bae 2’ now stands as one of the most awaited web series sequels.
