Benchmark stock market indices opened lower on Friday, as auto and FMCG shares recorded losses in early trade. However, IT stocks gained adding some resistance to the downward movement.
The S&P BSE Sensex was down by 389.29 points to 81,866.32, while the NSE Nifty50 lost 154.55 points to 25,342.00 as of 9:50 am.
