Samsung Announces Major Leadership Reshuffle with New Co-CEO and CTO

Samsung Electronics has restructured its leadership team, appointing Roh Tae-moon as co-CEO and Yoon Jang-hyun as Chief Technology Officer. The reshuffle aims to strengthen the company’s position amid global business uncertainties.

Key Leadership Changes

  • Roh Tae-moon: Promoted from acting head to official leader of the Device Experience (DX) division and appointed as co-CEO
  • Jun Young-hyun: Continues as co-CEO leading the Device Solutions division
  • Yoon Jang-hyun: Named new CTO and president of DX division
  • Park Hong-kun: Harvard professor appointed head of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology

Roh will oversee Samsung’s mobile, TV, and home appliance businesses, while Jun continues leading the semiconductor division. The company stated the dual-CEO structure will “bolster competitiveness of its key businesses and address uncertainties, while securing its leadership in future technologies.”

Corporate Donations Update

In separate news, Samsung led corporate donations in the first nine months of 2025 with 110.4 billion won (US$75.5 million), despite a 22% decrease from the previous year. KEPCO and Hyundai Motor followed with 109.2 billion won and 106.9 billion won respectively, while SK hynix increased charitable spending by 44% to 59 billion won.
