Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has officially addressed the Tejas fighter jet crash at the Dubai Air Show, terming it an “isolated occurrence” that won’t affect the company’s operations or financial health. The incident resulted in the tragic death of the Indian Air Force pilot during an aerial demonstration.
In a November 24 exchange filing, HAL stated: “We would like to bring to your attention that the recent incident during the aerial display at the Dubai Air Show is an isolated occurrence arising out of exceptional circumstances.”
The aerospace manufacturer emphasized: “We would like to assure that there is no impact on the Company’s business operations, financial performance or its future deliveries. The Company is extending its full support and cooperation to the agencies conducting the investigation.”
IAF Confirms Fatal Accident
The Indian Air Force confirmed the tragic incident through an official statement on X: “An IAF Tejas aircraft met with an accident during an aerial display at Dubai Air Show, today. The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the accident. IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief.”
The IAF has constituted a Court of Inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident that occurred during the high-profile international air show.
