AOT Reports Strong Recovery with 18.1B Baht Profit as Traffic Grows

The Airports of Thailand (AOT) has demonstrated a strong financial and operational recovery, posting 18.1 billion baht net profit for the fiscal year ending September 2025. The state-owned airport operator saw significant growth across all key metrics as air travel demand continues to rebound.

Financial Performance Highlights

Acting President Paweena Jariyathitipong revealed AOT generated 33 billion baht in aviation-related revenue, marking a 6.6% increase from the previous year. Total revenue reached 68.5 billion baht with a 1.12% growth rate, while net profit climbed to 18.1 billion baht.

Operational Growth Across Six Airports

Across AOT’s six airports – Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Hat Yai – air traffic totaled 788,095 flights, representing a 7.56% increase. This included 444,944 international flights and 343,151 domestic flights.

Passenger numbers surged to 125,989,505, up 5.61% year-over-year. The breakdown shows 76.63 million international passengers and 49.35 million domestic travelers passing through AOT facilities.

Suvarnabhumi’s International Recognition

Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport continues to earn global acclaim with several prestigious rankings:

  • 9th for highest air connectivity in Asia-Pacific and Middle East by ACI APAC & MID
  • 12th in Global Airport Megahubs 2025 ranking by OAG

These awards recognize the airport’s operational efficiency, passenger-handling capacity, and service quality standards.

Technology Upgrades and Future Plans

AOT has implemented several enhancements at Suvarnabhumi to maintain global standards. The upgrades include expanded biometric registration points for outbound international passengers and additional Auto Channels at immigration checkpoints for both arrivals and departures.

These measures aim to reduce congestion while improving processing speed, safety, and passenger convenience.

Ms. Paweena emphasized that the strong performance underscores AOT’s commitment to developing Thai airports to meet global benchmarks in service, technology, safety, environmental responsibility, and management efficiency.
