IndiGo, Air India Complete Airbus A320 Software Updates

Indian Airlines Successfully Navigate Airbus A320 Software Update

IndiGo and Air India have successfully implemented critical software upgrades across their Airbus A320 fleets following a global safety directive. Both airlines completed the mandatory system enhancements with minimal disruption to flight schedules.

Key Updates

  • IndiGo has completed software upgrades across all 200 affected A320 aircraft
  • Air India has reset over 90% of its impacted A320 fleet
  • No flight cancellations reported by IndiGo or Air India
  • Air India Express cancelled four flights during the modification process

IndiGo Fleet Fully Updated

IndiGo announced completion of the mandatory Airbus system enhancement across its entire A320-family fleet. “All 200 aircraft have now been fully updated and compliant as required,” the airline stated in a late-night message.

The airline confirmed all planes are now operating “with the latest approved configuration” and will continue monitoring performance as part of routine safety procedures. The upgrade was executed through coordinated efforts between engineering and operations teams, ensuring minimal disruption to flight schedules.

Air India Nears Completion

Air India reported successfully resetting over 90% of its operating A320 family aircraft affected by EASA and Airbus’ software realignment requirement. The airline expects to complete the entire fleet within EASA’s prescribed timeline, maintaining safety as the top priority.

The company praised engineering and ground staff who “worked round the clock to ensure there were no cancellations and that the impact on our schedule integrity across the network was minimal.”

Air India Express also confirmed completing safety checks on most of its fleet, with remaining checks scheduled for completion soon.
