‘Masthishka Maranam’ box office collection day 4: Krishand RK’s sci-fi world collects Rs 1.8 crore

The Malayalam sci-fi film ‘Masthishka Maranam’ starring Rajisha Vijayan and Bimal Raj was released last Friday. The movie has collected over Rs 1. 8 crore in four days as it keeps a steady run at the box office.

According to trade analyst Sacnilk, the film on Monday made over Rs 32 lakh as per early estimates. The film opened with Rs 38 lakh on Friday and saw an increase on Saturday, earning over Rs 55 lakh. On Sunday, the movie made Rs 55 lakh again. As the weekdays approached, the film made over Rs 32 lakh, which brings the total to Rs 1.8 crore.

Directed and written by Krishand RK, the film revolves around Bimal Raj, who is seen as a grieving father who enters a virtual reality memory game to reconnect with his lost child, played by Rajisha Vijayan.

The experimental film has received positive support on the internet, as a netizen wrote, “A socially powerful subject set against a striking futuristic backdrop. If you enjoy experimental storytelling, go for it.”

Another fan praising the film’s flow wrote, “It starts as a light, humorous film and slowly turns into an engaging cyberpunk drama set in Kochi. The writing is fresh, the visuals are stylish, and the storytelling keeps interested throughout.

The movie also includes Niranj Maniyanpilla, Divya Prabha, Rahul Rajagopal, and Jagadish in key roles.
