Simone Ashley’s saree-inspired moment steals the spotlight in Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2

Bridgerton Season 4, Part 2 has finally dropped, and fans are fully invested again. While the growing romance between Sophie Baek and Benedict Bridgerton is driving most of the drama, fashion lovers know the real magic of the series often lies in the costumes. The gowns, the hair, the details – everything feels like a visual feast.

And then comes Simone Ashley’s return as Kate Bridgerton.

She was noticeably missing from Part 1, so when she finally appeared in Part 2, the reaction online was instant. Desi viewers especially couldn’t stop talking about her look, which felt both familiar and refreshingly unexpected within the Regency-era setting.

Social media quickly lit up with screenshots and clips of Simone Ashley wearing a gown clearly inspired by the saree. And honestly, the excitement makes sense. The outfit didn’t feel like costume experimentation. It felt thoughtful – almost like Indian fashion quietly finding its place inside the Bridgerton universe.

Simone appeared in a rich teal-blue gown decorated with delicate floral prints. The silhouette started with a structured bodice that fitted beautifully before flowing into a soft, sweeping skirt. But the real highlight was the drape across her shoulder.

Styled like a saree pallu, the fabric was neatly pleated and placed over one shoulder, wrapping across her torso with ease. It created the illusion of traditional draping while still keeping the structure of a Western gown. Elegant without being obvious.

The short puff sleeves added a vintage touch, echoing the period aesthetic while floral embroidery tied the entire look together. The neckline stayed wide and soft, letting the draped detail take centre stage.

Her beauty look followed the same philosophy – effortless rather than heavy. Fresh, glowing makeup paired with a half-up, half-down hairstyle gave her an understated regal charm. Jewellery remained minimal, with floral drop earrings adding just enough sparkle. Skipping a necklace was a smart choice; it allowed the draping and neckline to stand out naturally.

And the internet noticed.

Fans began sharing clips from the new episodes, calling Kate Bridgerton a “South Asian queen,” celebrating how seamlessly Indian inspiration blended into the show’s romantic world.

Interestingly, this isn’t Simone Ashley’s first saree-inspired fashion moment in Bridgerton. Back in Season 3, her wardrobe already hinted at Indian influences, though in a more subtle way.

One memorable look featured a deep navy draped gown layered over a muted gold base. The gold underlayer added warmth, while the navy fabric flowed across her body like a pre-draped saree. The contrast between the two colours gave the outfit depth without overpowering the scene.

The shoulder drape again mirrored a saree pallu, creating movement and softness. The silhouette remained relaxed yet refined – flattering without feeling restrictive. It was regal, but also quietly rooted in Indian draping traditions.

And that’s what makes Simone Ashley’s fashion moments in Bridgerton feel special. Representation isn’t loud or forced. Instead, it appears through texture, silhouette, and thoughtful styling choices.

With every appearance, she proves that cultural influence can blend effortlessly into period drama – subtle enough to belong, yet striking enough to be remembered.
