Women police hold ‘Abhaya Brigade’ scooter rally in Aurangabad

In a bid to strengthen the sense of security among women and students and to build public confidence, a special scooter rally of women police personnel under the banner of the “Abhaya Brigade” was organised in Aurangabad on Tuesday. The initiative drew widespread public attention and underlined the police administration’s commitment to women’s safety.

The rally was flagged off from the Police Centre, Aurangabad, by superintendent of police Ambareesh Rahul, who waved a pink flag to mark its formal launch. Addressing the gathering, the SP said there was a time when the number of women in the police force was minimal, but today women have a strong and effective presence in the Bihar Police.

He added that the active role played by women police personnel has helped ordinary women feel safer and has significantly boosted their confidence.

The scooter rally passed through key locations in the city, including Ramesh Chowk, Dharamshala Chowk, Tikri Mor and the bypass road, before returning to the Police Centre via Ramesh Chowk. Riding in a disciplined and energetic manner, the women police personnel conveyed a clear message of safety, vigilance and awareness along the designated route.

Large crowds gathered at major intersections to witness the rally, reflecting the public’s keen interest in the initiative. Organised as part of Police Week celebrations, the event generated visible enthusiasm among the women police personnel. The initiative was warmly received by citizens, particularly women and students, who described it as reassuring and inspiring.

At several places along the route, local residents welcomed the rally with applause and showers of flowers. Many women stepped forward to greet the participants and appreciate their efforts.
