The upcoming romantic-drama, Ek Din, featuring actors Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi is backed by Aamir Khan Productions. The film just released the title song representing the collaboration between Aamir Khan and Arijit Singh, one of the most discussed developments ahead of the film’s release.
The announcement follows Aamir’s recent trip to Jiaganj, West Bengal, to visit Arijit’s hometown, a move that quickly went viral. New behind-the-scenes footage reveals their meeting was a deeply creative partnership, dismissing rumours that Aamir was there to talk the singer out of the retirement from playback singing that Arijit had announced earlier this year. In a light-hearted moment, Aamir told the singer that Bollywood simply wouldn’t be the same without him, urging him to keep going.
The superstar humorously asked Arijit, “Are you taking a break? Or you won’t ever sing for films? Hum logo ka kya hoga (what will happen to us)?” The singer responded with a smile. The video shows the duo bonding. Arijit later gives Aamir a lift on his scooter as they later play a game of chess.
All about the song:
The song depicting timeless romance has been composed by Ram Sampath with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Ek Din’s music score reinforces the film’s central message of discovering extraordinary moments within the ordinary. Sunil Pandey is making his directorial debut with this film. A long-time associate of Aamir, Sunil was previously an assistant director on films like Delhi Belly and Laal Singh Chaddha.
The music video gives an unusual glimpse into the behind-the-scenes aspects of the creation, in addition to the tune – Ek Din (previously Mere Raho). The video shows the team immersing themselves in the local spirit of Murshidabad, from sharing traditional village meals to engaging in relaxed games of chess.
Ek Din is Sai Pallavi’s long-awaited debut in Hindi cinema. The video ends with Junaid and Pallavi embracing, suggesting the profound emotional significance of their journey. The film also marks Aamir’s reunion with filmmaker Mansoor Khan after their earlier collaborations in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Akele Hum Akele Tum, and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na.
Ek Din is co-produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit. It is set for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
