Price and Availability Comparison

The Xiaomi 17 starts at CNY 4,499 (approximately ₹56,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. Higher configurations reach up to CNY 4,999 (roughly ₹62,000) for the 16GB + 512GB model. It’s currently available in China in blue, black, white, and pink colors.

In contrast, the iPhone 17 begins at ₹82,900 in India for the 256GB model, with the 512GB variant priced at ₹1,02,900. It comes in Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, White, and Black color options.

Design and Display Features

The Xiaomi 17 features a hole-punch display with a square-shaped rear camera module. It measures 151.1×71.8×8.06mm and weighs 191g. The device sports a 6.3-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and impressive 3,500 nits peak brightness. The display supports HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

The iPhone 17 comes with an aluminium frame and glass back, featuring a pill-shaped camera design. At 149.6×71.5×7.95mm and 177g weight, it’s slightly more compact. Its 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen includes ProMotion technology and marks the first non-Pro iPhone with always-on display capability, protected by Ceramic Shield 2.

Performance and Battery Life

Xiaomi 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on 3nm architecture, coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and houses a massive 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

iPhone 17 features Apple’s A19 Bionic chip with six-core CPU, five-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine. Apple claims 40% performance improvement over A18 chip with enhanced battery life. The device supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Apple Intelligence tools through iOS 26. According to Apple, a 10-minute charge provides up to eight hours of usage.

Camera Capabilities

Xiaomi 17 boasts a Leica-tuned triple 50MP rear camera system including primary, telephoto, and ultrawide sensors. The front features a 50MP selfie camera. The setup supports 8K video recording at 30fps and 4K at 60fps.

iPhone 17 carries a dual 48MP camera system with sensor-shift OIS, 2x in-sensor zoom, and macro capability. The 18MP front camera includes Centre Stage technology for improved video call framing.
