JioHotstar Outage Hits Users: Network Errors and Missing Features

JioHotstar Faces Widespread Outage Across India

Streaming platform JioHotstar is experiencing significant service disruptions, with users across India reporting app failures and missing features. The outage has sparked numerous complaints on social media as subscribers encounter network errors and functional issues.

User Reports Highlight Widespread Problems

Numerous users have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to report problems accessing the platform. The issues appear to vary among users:

  • Many reported the complete disappearance of the search icon from the JioHotstar app
  • Others encountered the “Something went wrong” error message
  • Some users faced network connection failures when attempting to play content

One frustrated user posted: “What the heck happened to @JioHotstar. No search button or anything their, is everyone have this issue or else me”

Independent Verification Confirms Issues

Our testing confirmed the widespread nature of the outage. The search icon has indeed vanished from both mobile and web applications. Attempting to play movies or TV shows triggers a “Network error” message with the subtext: “Unable to connect to JioHotstar. There couldbe a problem with your network connection.”

The service disruption appears to be affecting users across multiple regions, though JioHotstar has yet to issue an official statement about the outage duration or cause.
