French President Emmanuel Macron has invited the heads of most of France’s political parties, excluding the far-right and the hard-left, for a meeting at the Elysee on Friday afternoon (October 10, 2025) as he searches for his sixth Prime Minister in under two years, broadcaster BFM reported, citing sources.
Mr. Macron’s office said on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) he would appoint a new Prime Minister within 48 hours, after outgoing Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu held two days of talks to seek a way out of France’s worst political crisis in decades.
