Actor Cameron Diaz and singer Benji Madden have announced the birth of their third child, Nautas Madden. Madden shared the news on Instagram on May 4, with a drawing of a pirate ship carrying the title “Nautas Madden” underneath.
In his post, Madden said he and Diaz were “happy, excited, and feeling so blessed” as they welcomed their son. The couple, who are also parents to daughter Raddix Wildflower Madden, 6, and son Cardinal Madden, 2, have kept their children out of the public eye and do not share their images online or discuss them in interviews.
The baby announcement
“Cameron and I are happy, excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third child, Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world, son!! (sic)” the singer captioned the photos.
Along with the pirate ship drawing, Madden also posted illustrations of a cardinal, a potted plant and more. He added, “We love life with our family- our kids are healthy & happy, and we are grateful!!! Having a blast. Sending all our best wishes — the Madden Family (sic)”.
Diaz on motherhood
Diaz has previously spoken openly about motherhood and about having children later in life. In a March 2022 interview with BBC Radio 2’s Michelle Visage, she spoke about what that experience felt like for her.
“The women who have children my age are like, literally 20 years younger and that’s an interesting place to be because I’m not that age,” she said. “And that’s totally OK. But I want to feel vital like that for my child,” she said.
Earlier, in an October 2020 interview with Naomi Campbell, Diaz joked about wanting to live well past 100 so she could be there for her children. She said, “When you’re my age and you decide to do it, it’s a real choice,” she said. “You really have to work hard for it. The only pressure for me is like I have to live to be, like 107, you know? So no pressure!”
Professional projects
On the professional side, Diaz took a break from acting in 2018 after the release of Annie. In June 2022, it was announced that she would return to acting alongside Foxx in the Netflix action-comedy Back in Action, which was released on Netflix on January 17, 2025.
She is currently seen in the film Outcome alongside Keanu Reeves. The film is currently streaming on Apple TV.
