US–Israel–Iran conflict: Debris from intercepted projectile hits Dubai Marina Tower

Authorities in Dubai confirmed late Saturday that no injuries were reported after debris from a successfully intercepted projectile caused minor damage to the faade of a residential tower in Dubai Marina, with smoke seen rising from part of the building’s exterior. The incident occurred amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict in the region.

According to officials, the incident occurred when air defence systems intercepted an incoming aerial threat over the city. Debris from the interception fell onto the exterior of the residential tower, resulting in slight damage to the building’s faade.

Emergency response teams were quickly dispatched to the site and secured the surrounding area to ensure the safety of residents and the public. Authorities said precautionary measures were immediately taken, and the situation was brought under control shortly after the incident.

Officials confirmed that no residents were injured and that those living in the tower were safe. The affected section of the building sustained only minor exterior damage.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Dubai Media Office said: “Authorities confirm that debris resulting from a successful interception caused a minor incident on the faade of a tower in Dubai Marina. The situation has been contained. No injuries were reported.”

The clarification came after videos showing damage to the faade of the tower began circulating widely on social media, prompting concern among residents and online users. Footage shared online appeared to show a section of the building exterior affected by falling debris.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions following the outbreak of conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

Just hours earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a televised address that Iran’s temporary leadership council had decided to suspend missile strikes against neighbouring countries unless attacks on Iran originated from those states.

“The temporary leadership council announced that there will be no more attacks on neighbouring countries and no missile launches unless attacks originate from those countries against Iran,” he said, adding that the decision was aimed at preventing further escalation in the region.
