YouTuber PewDiePie says he ‘fixed’ YouTube using his own AI model

PewDiePie, the popular YouTuber, says he has YouTube using his own AI model. Frustrated with how YouTube shows too many Shorts and advertisements, he decided to take control of his feed. PewDiePie trained his AI by testing multiple chatbots against each other, and the result, he claims, works better than other AI tools like ChatGPT-4. Now, he can watch videos without distractions and go straight to his subscription feed.

The YouTuber shared his experiment in a video uploaded on March 17. He explained that his AI created a browser extension that removes Shorts, suggested videos, and even sidebar information.

With this tool, PewDiePie’s feed shows only what he wants, and comments appear right below each video. Previously, he had to scroll through many thumbnails before reaching the comments, but his AI fixed this problem.

PewDiePie’s AI Makes YouTube Easier to Watch

PewDiePie says the AI extension gives him a much cleaner YouTube experience. It removes Shorts, suggested videos, and sidebar distractions, letting him focus on videos he actually wants to watch. Comments now appear immediately below each upload, so he doesn’t have to scroll through many thumbnails first.

This gives him a feed that feels simple, personal, and distraction-free, which was missing in the normal YouTube experience.

Although PewDiePie built his own AI tool, similar extensions like already exist. They also help remove Shorts and clean the YouTube interface. Still, PewDiePie’s experiment shows how creative users can take back control of the algorithm and make their own experience better.

This is also part of PewDiePie’s larger attempt at avoiding distractions from social media. He has unfollowed all of his Instagram accounts and created separate accounts for his social media. This is because PewDiePie thinks that being online for so long has an impact on mental health and that he should protect himself from useless content.

In conclusion, PewDiePie’s AI experiment is not just about him. It is also about how much influence people have over online platforms and how technology has the power to make things better and distraction-free for everyone, including YouTube.
