Donald Trump said the trade deal with India remains unchanged, describing it as an arrangement where India pays tariffs while the United States does not. He added that the agreement “stands as is,” signaling no immediate plans to renegotiate its terms.
“Deal with India – they pay tariffs, we don’t. Trade deal with India stands as is,” he said.
“Prime Minister Modi is a great man, but he was much tougher in negotiations with others than he was in the deal with the United States,” Trump said, adding, “We made a fair agreement with India.”
“India was ripping us off. We made a deal with India. It is a fair deal now. We did a little flip,” he added.
