RaKai, a close friend of popular streamer Kai Cenat, has explained why Twitch suspended his channel for 30 days. The 17 year old said the ban likely happened after he showed a phone number that Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball had shared with him in a private message. RaKai spoke about the situation during a YouTube livestream titled “BANNED ON TWITCH” on March 15, 2026. About five minutes into the stream, he told viewers that Twitch said he violated a rule about sharing personal information.
The problem goes back to a March 10, 2026 “Just Chatting” stream, where RaKai was trying to contact different celebrities for possible collaborations. During the broadcast, he showed messages between himself and LaMelo Ball.
In the messages, the NBA player had sent him a phone number. RaKai said Twitch later suspended his account for 30 days. He also revealed that the platform warned him another violation could lead to a permanent ban from Twitch.
RaKai says Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball’s phone number leak during stream may have triggered Twitch’s 30 day suspension
During the YouTube stream, RaKai told viewers he believes Twitch acted after he accidentally revealed LaMelo Ball’s phone number on his live broadcast.
He said he does not think LaMelo Ball personally asked Twitch to punish him.
Instead, he thinks the platform noticed the information during the stream.
RaKai explained the situation to viewers in his own words.
He said,
“I think it’s from LaMelo Ball. No, I don’t think LaMelo Ball is like, ‘Oh my God, Twitch ban the n****.’ But I think Twitch saw that. LaMelo Ball is a good basketball player and I think why they banned me is because I leaked his number.”
He added that he tried to explain to Twitch that he did not show the number on purpose.
RaKai said,
“Chat, listen. Ban me for one day on Twitch. One day. All right? My bad, I’ve been a bad boy. But it wasn’t like I said, ‘Chat look, this is LaMelo Ball’s number.’ No. I told my Twitch rep that. They said none of that can do.”
During the same livestream, RaKai showed a message from his Twitch dashboard explaining the suspension.
The notice said the violation was “Sharing Personal Information.” It showed the report date as March 14, 2026, and said the violation will stay on his account until March 3, 2028.
The message also explained that RaKai cannot use several features during the suspension. That includes going live, joining stream sessions, creating Stories, uploading VODs, or using chat on his channel. According to the dashboard message, the 30 day suspension ends on April 13, 2026.
RaKai also told viewers that Twitch warned him another similar violation would lead to a permanent ban.
The suspension came just a day after RaKai was already in the news. On March 14, 2026, he claimed during another stream that someone assaulted him during a visit to Walmart.
