India-Italy Ties on Path of Rapid Expansion: Italian President
Italian President Sergio Mattarella declared that India-Italy relations are set for rapid expansion following “warm and fruitful” talks with top Indian leadership in New Delhi.

High-Level Meetings in Delhi
President Mattarella, who arrived on Sunday, was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He held extensive discussions with President Murmu, where both leaders addressed the media afterwards.
President Murmu stated the talks covered a wide spectrum including trade, investment, science, technology, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, space, and defence. Views were also exchanged on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Strategic Partnership Strengthened
Later, at Hyderabad House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with the Italian President. PM Modi posted on X about their “warm and fruitful” discussions focused on deepening economic and cultural ties.

We discussed ways to further deepen our economic and cultural ties, and foster cooperation in areas like renewable energy, green hydrogen, IT, defence and space. Our nations are committed to a strategic partnership that benefits our people and advances global peace and prosperity,” – PM Narendra Modi.
External Affairs Minister’s Meeting
President Mattarella also met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Jaishankar conveyed greetings from President Murmu and PM Modi, appreciating Mattarella’s vision for taking bilateral relations forward.
The Italian President will visit Mumbai before concluding his state visit on March 13.
