Embassy of India, Doha: Indians stranded in Qatar urged to register details after flight cancellations

Indian nationals currently stranded in Qatar due to flight disruptions have been urged to submit their details to help authorities assess the number of affected travellers. The advisory applies to Indian tourists and short-term visitors holding the Hayya A1 visa, whose flights out of the country were cancelled between February 28 and March 7, 2026.

Authorities have asked these travellers to fill out their information through a designated online link so officials can determine the exact number of Indian nationals who are currently stranded in Qatar.

Registration aimed at assessing stranded travellers

Officials clarified that the registration process is intended only to gather details about affected travellers and does not apply to Indian nationals who are residents of Qatar.

This information will enable the authorities to understand the extent of the situation and identify the tourists who could not leave the country because of the cancelled flights.

There are many tourists stranded in the region because of the disruption in air travel caused by the rising tensions in West Asia.

Advisory for short-term visitors

The notice specifically targets Indian nationals visiting Qatar as tourists or short-term visitors under the Hayya A1 visa category.

Travellers who fall under this category and were scheduled to depart Qatar during the affected period are encouraged to submit their details through the online form provided by the authorities.

Officials said the exercise is aimed at ascertaining the number and profile of stranded Indian travellers so that appropriate assistance or coordination measures can be considered if required.

Flight disruptions across the region

The request comes amid ongoing aviation disruptions linked to the regional crisis in West Asia, which began affecting air travel around February 28.

Several flights have been cancelled or rescheduled by various airlines operating in the Middle Eastern region due to the closure of the airspace, leading to the stranding of many travellers.

It is suggested that travelers should be updated regarding the situation through various announcements.

It is also suggested that passengers should maintain contact with airlines and regularly check flight status updates regarding their rescheduled flights.
