The announcement coincided with the release of YouTube’s economic impact data, revealing that the platform’s creative ecosystem contributed over ₹16,000 crore to India’s GDP last year while supporting more than 930,000 full-time equivalent jobs.

Educational Partnerships and Skill Development

Through its collaboration with the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT), YouTube and Google experts will conduct webinars, guest sessions, and workshops for students pursuing careers in animation, VFX, gaming, comics, and extended reality. Students will receive project support exploring AI applications in film, animation, and game development. YouTube will also assist IICT in establishing and growing its official channel.

In the healthcare sector, YouTube is partnering with AIIMS College of Nursing to make nursing courses available online. This initiative will deliver training on wound care and infection control to thousands of nursing students and professionals across India.

New AI Features for Viewers and Creators

A conversational AI tool now enables viewers to ask questions directly while watching videos and receive immediate responses. Currently available in English, the feature is expected to launch in Hindi soon.

For health information access, first aid videos from trusted sources will appear more prominently in search results in both English and Hindi. Digital well-being features include daily time limits for YouTube Shorts and break reminders that remain active for younger viewers.

Content creators gain access to production assistance and copyright protection tools. The YouTube Create app now offers automated AI editing help, while eligible creators can identify and request removal of altered videos that misuse their likeness without permission.
