Xiaomi launches Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, its most-expensive phones so far; offer 200MP camera and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset

Xiaomi 17 series is now official in India. The series consists of two smartphones – Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, developed in collaboration with Leica for camera technology. The company said the smartphones focus on performance, camera capabilities and battery life. Both models come with OLED displays, Snapdragon processors and fast charging support. Xiaomi said the series is designed to support tasks such as photography, content creation, gaming and everyday use. Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra Price and availability

Price of Xiaomi 17 starts at ₹89,999. Customers can also buy the phone with EMI starting at ₹9,999 per month for nine months.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra, on the other hand, comes with a starting price of ₹1,29,999. The price includes an instant discount of up to ₹10,000 on SBI credit cards and credit card EMI. The phone can also be purchased with EMI starting at ₹14,444 per month for nine months.

The Xiaomi 17 Series will be available from March 18, 2026 through Amazon.in, Mi.com and Xiaomi retail stores.

Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra Offers

Xiaomi has announced several launch offers for buyers of the new Xiaomi 17 series smartphones.

As announced by the company, customers buying the Xiaomi 17 Ultra between March 13 and March 17 will receive the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro worth ₹19,999 as part of its early bird offer. During this period, buyers of the Xiaomi 17 will get a Free Phone Damage Protection Plan worth ₹9,999.

The company is also offering additional partner benefits including four months of Spotify Premium, three months of Google AI Pro, three months of YouTube Premium and Jio benefits worth ₹31,500 for eligible users.

Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra Features

Xiaomi 17 comes with a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display featuring a 1220 x 2656 pixel resolution. The handset is backed by a 6,330mAh battery, and 100W wired charging with 50W wireless charging. The device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Black, Blue and Green are the colour options that a user can choose from.

For camera duties, Xiaomi 17 includes a triple 50MP Leica camera system and a 50MP front camera. The phone also supports IP68 and IP69 protection and uses Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 for durability.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra focuses on camera capabilities. The device features a 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor designed to improve image detail in scenes with both bright and dark areas. It also includes a 200MP Leica telephoto camera with 75-100mm optical zoom and supports continuous optical zoom. The handset boasts of a 6.9-inch OLED screen with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone also supports Dolby Vision and ACES Log video recording up to 4K 120fps. Black and White are the colour options of Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
