Xiaomi announces Redmi 15A 5G with big battery and 120Hz display, India launch on March 27

Redmi has announced the launch date of its next smartphone, the Redmi 15A 5G. The device is set to break cover on March 27, adding another smartphone to the Redmi 15 series. Ahead of its launch, the Chinese smartphone maker has revealed the key specs and design of the device on a dedicated microsite, confirming that the Redmi 15A will be available in three colour options.

Redmi 15A 5G design and specs

Starting with the design, the Redmi 15A 5G features a flat rear panel with a rectangular camera module housing dual camera lens and an LED flash. The power button and volume controls are positioned on the right side of the handset, while the Redmi branding sits in the bottom-left corner of the back.

The smartphone will be available in three colour options — Black, Blue, and Pink — shown on the microsite, which is already live on the Xiaomi India online store, confirming its availability through the website. Notably, the pink variant gets a textured rear panel.

On the specs front, the Redmi 15A 5G is confirmed to feature a 120Hz display and will be backed by a 6,300mAh battery. The device will be powered by an unspecified octa-core 5G chipset.

Further details about the smartphone will be disclosed on the day of its official launch. For additional information, the Redmi 15, the first smartphone in this series, made its debut back in August last year at Rs 14,999. The smartphone comes with a large 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 850 nits of peak brightness.

The Redmi 15 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The smartphone has up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

On the camera front, the Redmi 15 features a 50-megapixel main rear sensor accompanied by an auxiliary lens, while an 8-megapixel front camera takes care of selfies.

The Redmi 15 is fuelled by a 7,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging and 18W reverse charging support. The device runs HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15 and carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
