Apple M5 MacBook Pro, iPad Pro Launch October 22 Without Event

Apple’s October Lineup: M5 Devices Launch Without Traditional Event

Apple has silently launched its new M5-powered devices—MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro—with sales starting October 22, raising questions about whether a formal launch event will follow.

Key Takeaways

  • Apple’s M5 devices go on sale October 22 after surprise announcement
  • iPad Pro M5 and MacBook Pro M5 get significant performance upgrades
  • Vision Pro M5 expands to new markets but India launch remains unconfirmed
  • All three products feature the powerful new M5 chip with AI enhancements

iPad Pro M5: Thinner Design with Wi-Fi 7

The new iPad Pro M5 focuses heavily on performance for intensive workflows, particularly those using artificial intelligence. Featuring a 10-core CPU and improved GPU, the M5 chip is reportedly 3.5 times faster than the M4.

Apple’s tablet also becomes the first to include the N1 wireless networking chip supporting Wi-Fi 7. Available in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, the larger model measures just 5.1mm—thinner than the iPhone Air.

Pricing: 11-inch starts at ₹99,900, 13-inch at ₹1,29,900.

MacBook Pro M5: Enhanced Graphics and Battery

Apple’s MacBook Pro M5 delivers up to 1.6 times faster graphics performance than its predecessor, with the company claiming the M5 chip performs 3.5 times better than the M4.

Running macOS Tahoe with a new Liquid Glass UI, the laptop offers faster SSD performance, 24-hour battery life, and 150GB/s unified memory bandwidth.

Price: ₹1,69,900

Vision Pro M5: Expanded Availability

After a two-year wait, the refreshed Vision Pro headset features the M5 chip with 10% better display rendering and third-generation ray tracing. The device includes a dual knit band for improved comfort and support for over one million apps, including 3,000 built specifically for visionOS.

Most notably, the Vision Pro M5 incorporates an R1 chip that processes input from multiple cameras, sensors, and microphones to enhance immersive apps and real-world viewing during streaming.

Availability: Priced at $3,499, the Vision Pro launches in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, UAE, UK, and US. No India release details have been announced yet.
