US-Iran war: Major cryptocurrency conference Token2049 Dubai postponed to 2027 as Middle East conflict continues

TOKEN2049 Dubai has been postponed to April 2027. This comes due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East between Iran and the US and Israel, the organisers of the crypto industry conferences announced in a statement. The event, originally scheduled for late April 2026 in Dubai, was delayed due to

The organisers said the decision was made after consulting partners and stakeholders, noting that the safety and experience of attendees remained the main consideration. Preparations for the event had been progressing, but organisers said postponing it would allow the global crypto community to gather under more stable conditions.

What organisers said about cancelling Dubai cryptocurrency event

In the statement, organisers said that bringing together the global crypto community requires stable travel and logistics conditions. They said the conference wants to attract global participants, and delaying it would allow for the planned scale.

the organisers said.

All previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the new conference dates, April 21-22, 2027. If you wish, you may transfer your ticket to the TOKEN2049 Singapore conference, scheduled for October 7-8, 2026, at Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

The conference was delayed after the organisers had previously insisted it would proceed as scheduled. The organisers told Fortune on March 6 that the conference would proceed despite the rising tensions in the region.

The conflict escalated after military strikes involving the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, with violence spreading to other parts of the Middle East.

The conflict has affected travel and event planning across the region. A suspected airstrike partially damaged Dubai’s main airport, while missile debris landed on Palm Jumeirah, injuring four people. The area includes several hotels and tourist attractions.

The situation also caused confusion among attendees. When organisers told ticket holders in a Telegram group that the event would proceed as planned earlier in the week, one participant reportedly replied, according to a The Wall Street Journal report.

TOKEN2049 is one of several events in the region affected by the conflict. Other gatherings, including the Megacampus Summit held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, were also cancelled.

Sporting events have also faced disruptions. Tennis player Daniil Medvedev was reportedly unable to leave Dubai after participating in a tournament due to travel disruptions linked to the conflict.

Despite postponing the event, organisers said they remain confident in Dubai’s role within the digital asset industry.

the organisers said, adding that they appreciate the support from the city’s regulators and government partners.

TOKEN2049 has grown into a major gathering for the cryptocurrency industry. The conference attracted more than 15,000 attendees in 2025, with organisers describing it as a

Speakers planned for the 2026 edition included Eric Trump, Shayne Coplan and Paolo Ardoino. Organisers said the next opportunity for the community to gather will be at TOKEN2049 Singapore in October 2026, while the Dubai edition will return in April 2027.
