The upcoming game Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is shaping up to be more than just another action title. It appears to be a darker, choice-heavy RPG set in a hidden world of monsters lurking inside modern-day New York. Built by Polish studio Teyon, the project leans into investigation, character building, and narrative consequences rather than pure action alone.
The gameplay builds upon lessons learned from RoboCop: Rogue City, another title developed by Teyon. That earlier game focused on pacing, atmosphere, and grounded combat. This new project appears to expand that formula into something broader and more flexible.
Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish: From ordinary life to a hidden world of monsters
At its core, the game seems to revolve around a simple but unsettling idea.
The player starts as an ordinary person living in New York. Then everything changes. A hidden layer of reality emerges, one filled with creatures that most people never see.
The setting connects to the broader World of Darkness, a long-running setting known for its dark tone and interconnected supernatural themes. Within that universe, humans often stumble into truths they were never meant to know. That shift, from ignorance to awareness, becomes the turning point.
Łatocha reportedly describes this transition as a point of no return. Once you see what’s out there, there’s no going back to normal life. That framing gives the game its emotional hook.

The game is planned for release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. It was revealed during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase, generating early interest among RPG and horror fans.
At the time of writing, the release window is set for Summer 2027. That places it fairly far out, which might mean more development updates will arrive gradually.
