On February 25, Samsung unveiled its flagship Galaxy S26 series. While the buzz around the launch is still fresh, a new leak has surfaced, shedding light on the next-generation Galaxy S27 lineup, which is expected to debut next year. The series could reportedly include four models, with the addition of a Pro variant to the lineup.
The addition of the S27 Pro is said to bring Ultra-like features, but without support for the S Pen. According to tipster Ice Universe, this move may be aimed at offering more choices to consumers while also responding to Apple’s four-model strategy, which includes standard variants like the base and Air, along with premium Pro and Pro Max models.
The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, introduced the Galaxy S20 series in 2020 and has since followed a consistent three-tier flagship strategy comprising Standard, Plus, and Ultra models. However, recent rumours suggest that the company may shift to a four-tier lineup, adding a Pro variant alongside the existing models. If true, the Galaxy S27 series could include four devices: Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra.
Ice Universe claimed that an industry insider revealed the ‘privacy display’ feature, which generated strong reactions on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is expected to be expanded to two models in the next generation, and it is likely to be included in the newly added model.
Earlier, Samsung experimented with adding new variants to its flagship lineup, such as the Galaxy S25 Edge, which was launched two months after the S25 series and highlighted a slimmer design. The Edge model was reportedly introduced as a potential replacement for the Plus variant. However, it did not appear in the latest flagship lineup, likely due to market feedback. The latest rumour, however, suggests that the Galaxy S27 Pro is not intended as a replacement, but rather as an addition to expand the overall lineup.
The Pro variant is likely to introduce features that set it apart from the standard and Plus models.
