Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 key specs leaked, launch pegged for July

Samsung is expected to bring its next foldable smartphone, Galaxy Z Fold 8, in July, a timeline similar to its predecessor— Galaxy Z Fold 7. The smartphone has reportedly been listed on a certification website in China along with the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The devices are expected to come with faster charging compared to their predecessors.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 expected specs and features

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to ship with an 8-inch folding screen paired with a 6.5-inch cover display, both providing a 120Hz refresh rate. It may have a dual-layer UTG for the folding screen and a laser-drilled display metal support plate. In terms of processor, the upcoming folding smartphone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

For photography, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to be headlined by a 200-megapixel primary camera using a 1/1.3-inch type sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to house a 5,000mAh battery, a notable improvement over the 4,400mAh cell found in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device is also said to support 45W wired charging, a significant step up from the 25W charging on its predecessor. The device is said to come in three storage configurations with up to 16GB of RAM, spanning 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options. The new foldable is also rumoured to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold lineup spotted on Chinese database

According to a report by SammyFans, Samsung has listed multiple devices on the China Compulsory Certification (3C) website, including model numbers SM-F9710, SM-F7760, and SM-F9760. These are said to correspond to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Wide Fold, respectively.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7, which launched in July 2025, features an 8.0-inch foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.5-inch cover display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. On the camera front, it sports a triple rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The device is backed by a 4,400mAh battery with 25W wired charging and is priced in India at Rs 1,74,999.
