Redmi Note 15 SE 5G will launch in India on April 2, the company has announced. The phone will make it debut just months after the standard Redmi Note 15 5G was unveiled in the country. Redmi made the announcement on X, and a dedicated microsite for the phone has already gone live on Flipkart – a confirmation where customers will be able to buy it.
The “SE” in the name stands for Special Edition. Based on what has been teased so far, the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G looks to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 5G’s China-exclusive New Year Cherry Red Edition. The phone will arrive in a striking red shade with a gold-coloured frame, giving it a more premium look compared to the standard models.
As per the photos shared on the social media, the Redmi branding sits at the centre of the back panel, and the rear camera module retains the squircle shape seen on the regular Redmi Note 15 5G, housing two cameras and an LED flash, with a decorative element finished in the same gold colour as the frame.
“Presenting the all-new REDMI Note 15 Special Edition with a luxurious vegan leather finish and an exquisite Crimson Reserve colour,” the company says on the microsite on Flipkart.
Redmi Note 15 SE 5G expected specifications
While Redmi has not officially detailed the SE’s full specifications, the phone is widely expected to carry over much of the hardware from the standard Redmi Note 15 5G, which launched in India on January 6. The phone may feature a large 6. 77-inch AMOLED display running at a resolution of 1080 x 2392 pixels, with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits.
Under the hood, the phone is expected to come with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. On the camera front, the standard model packs an 108MP main rear camera alongside an 8Mp ultrawide lens – which may also come in the special edition version. Battery life should be 5,520mAh.
Redmi Note 15 SE 5G price and availability
