The month of April is set to witness several smartphone launches globally. Companies like Vivo and Realme are already in the lineup, and Oppo is now gearing up to join the wave with the introduction of its Oppo K15 Pro series in China. The company has confirmed the launch date via a teaser on Weibo, scheduling the debut for April 1. The smartphones are expected to arrive alongside the Oppo Watch X3 and the Oppo Enco Clip 2. Oppo recently introduced the K14 series in India, but the launch timeline for the new K15 Pro series in the country remains unclear for now.
What we know about the Oppo K15 Pro series
The Oppo K15 Pro series is expected to include two models — the Oppo K15 Pro and the Oppo K15 Pro Plus. The company has confirmed via a teaser that the lineup will feature active cooling fans, suggesting a strong focus on mobile gaming.
The Oppo K15 Pro series will also be accompanied by the Oppo Watch X3 Mini and Oppo Enco Clip 2 on the same day. Oppo has further revealed that the Enco Clip 2 will feature audio tuning by the Danish brand Dynaudio.
In terms of specifications, the company has not revealed much about the Oppo K15 series so far. However, based on leaks that have surfaced over the past few months, the lineup is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. The Oppo K15 series is also likely to sport a 6.78-inch LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The device may feature a 50MP rear camera. Reports suggest that Oppo could pack an 8,000mAh battery in the handset.
Design-wise, the Chinese teaser showcases the OPPO K15 Pro series in a white finish, featuring a flat-edged design and a square-shaped camera island on the back. The module houses a dual-camera setup along with a distinctive blue oval accent. The right side of the frame appears to include the volume controls, power button, a vent for cooling, and a small indentation.
The Oppo K15 Pro will succeed the K13 Turbo Pro, which is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. The predecessor features a 6.80-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary camera for photography. It also carries IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings for dust and water resistance.
