Nothing is launching something on March 5, could be 4a and 4a Pro

Nothing is launching something on March 5. Chances are it is the Nothing 4a series. Nothing’s launch is set just one day after Apple’s and CEO Carl Pei made sure to use the hype. Whether the launch window – March 5 – is intentional or by accident, we don’t know.

Apple’s “surprise” March 4 event invites are all over the internet. Pei took one of them and digitally spray-painted the words “Nothing” and “5 March” on it and shared it on X, the platform previously known as Twitter. The words “you’re invited” were left untouched all but confirming Nothing’s launch, though what it is launching remains a mystery, at least from the brand side.

Carl Pei post on X

In all probability, Nothing is launching the 4a series on March 5. The lineup is already confirmed. The series will spawn two models at the very least. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has confirmed to India Today Tech in a recent interview that the Nothing 4a and Nothing 4a Pro are in the works and launching soon in India. Going by history, we can expect Nothing to launch the phone(s) simultaneously in India as global markets.

“The 4a series will further push the bar, especially the 4a Pro,” Evangelidis told India Today Tech. “For people who are looking in terms of performance – a very strong device – the 4a Pro will be a great alternative this year.”

The 4a series is a make-or-break product line for Nothing since a proper flagship Phone 4 is not coming anytime soon. The company kicked-off a 2-year refresh cycle for flagship phones with the Phone 3 and with Phone 4, it is continuing with that strategy.

The reason – according to Evangelidis – is that a flagship should be a “cut-through device,” and that requires time to experiment and refine.

Flagship or no flagship, Nothing is on a roll lately. The London upstart opened its first offline store in India on February 14. It is Nothing’s second store outside of Soho, London. Soon after the opening, research firm IDC pegged it as India’s fastest growing brand in India clocking an impressive 45 percent year-on-year increase in 2025.

The Nothing 4a series will be a follow-up to last year’s 3a series, which also included two models: Nothing 3a and Nothing 3a Pro. A couple of things you need to know about the 4a series: speculation is rife that the lineup will sport USB 3.1 storage and bigger batteries (compared to Phone 3a series). The Nothing 4a Pro is tipped to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. More details are awaited.
