Mark Zuckerberg bought Manus AI a few weeks ago, now it is coming to chat starting with Telegram

After testing its in-house Meta AI chatbot and not getting the traction it expected, Meta acquired Manus AI a few weeks ago. The platform, developed by Singapore based startup Butterfly Effect, specialises in autonomous, general-purpose AI agents. Unlike regular chatbots, Manus can plan, think through tasks and complete them on its own, rather than simply replying to prompts. Now, Meta is bringing this agentic AI capabilities directly to everyday users through chat apps. The rollout begins with Telegram, with WhatsApp expected to follow soon.

In its official announcement, Manus introduced what it calls personal AI Agents for chat. The feature is now live on Telegram, with more apps expected to be added shortly. The company says it is offering the same core system available on its main platform of Manus AI within chat, allowing users to access its agentic AI directly inside conversations instead of logging into a separate platform.

Some of Manus AI capabilities include generating images, processing files and handling more complex, multi-step requests. The AI also supports memory and can connect with tools such as Gmail, calendars and other productivity apps. “Telegram is the first supported channel. Manus Agents with Telegram support is available today to all users across all subscription tiers, with more platforms coming soon,” the official blog post states.

How to use Manus AI in chats

Using Manus AI inside chat is simple and does not require any coding, server setup or technical configuration.

– All you need to do is link your Manus account to Telegram by scanning a QR code.

– Once connected, the AI agent appears like a regular chat contact and works within the same conversation window.

– You can assign tasks in plain language and ask Manus AI to summarise a PDF, analyse a spreadsheet, transcribe an audio clip, extract key insights from a document and more.

– Note that all interactions with Manus AI will happen directly within the chat. The system supports file uploads, images and voice notes, so you can handle different types of content without leaving the app.

– You can also choose between two models. Manus 1.6 Max handles deeper reasoning and more complex workflows, while Manus 1.6 Lite delivers faster responses for everyday tasks.

What can Manus Agentic AI do?

According to the company, Manus is built around execution rather than just conversation. Just like other Agentic AI setups, Manus breaks down requests into smaller steps and completes them sequentially before delivering a final result.

Some of the tasks it can handle includes:

— Conducting research and compiling reports
— Summarising long documents or PDFs
— Analysing spreadsheets and extracting insights
— Drafting emails, articles or proposals
— Generating structured documents
— Writing or debugging code

While companies like Google, OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta have been integrating AI tools into messaging and everyday apps, Meta is expanding its agentic AI push by integrating Manus directly into its existing platforms, removing the need for users to switch to a separate app.
