The Google Pixel 11 and iPhone 18 Pro are still a few months away from launch, but a report suggests they may have at least one thing in common. It is widely known that companies like Apple and Google source smartphone displays from Samsung, and they are expected to continue this practice for their upcoming flagship devices. According to a report by Korean publication ETNews, industry sources say that Samsung will supply its latest M16 OLED panels to both Apple and Google. These panels are expected to be used in the iPhone 18 Pro models and the Pixel 11 series.
Samsung’s latest displays are also reportedly set to feature in upcoming devices such as the iPhone Fold and the Galaxy S27 series, which are expected to launch early next year. The report adds that Samsung Display is the largest supplier of iPhone OLED panels. The supply volume for M16 OLED panels in the second half of the year is projected to be around 50 million units for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, along with about 10 million units for the foldable iPhone.
Users are likely to see these new displays first in the Pixel 11 series, which is expected to arrive around August.
From M14 to M16: What’s changing
Samsung’s M14 OLED panels, which have been in use for over two years, were featured in devices like the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, all models of the iPhone 17 series, and the Pixel 10 series. The new M16 panels are said to bring improvements in brightness, colour, and lifespan. However, for many users, the visible difference in screen quality may be minimal, as the M14 panels already offer top-tier colour accuracy and brightness.
Where the M16 panels stand out is in power efficiency. They are expected to consume less power and allocate more resources for demanding tasks such as artificial intelligence.
Pixel 11 Pro design details leak
Meanwhile, based on CAD renders shared by Android Authority, the Pixel 11 Pro may retain a design similar to last year’s Pixel 10 Pro, featuring a large rear camera module. However, the new model may introduce changes to the module, replacing body-colored accents around the flash with an all-black design.
The renders also suggest slimmer bezels, although they may still be thicker than competing devices like the rumoured iPhone 18 Pro series. The Google Pixel 11 series is expected to be unveiled in August. More details are likely to emerge closer to the official launch.
