HP launches high-performance PCs for AI workloads, printers and more at HP Imagine 2026

At its annual HP Imagine 2026 event, HP has unveiled a huge product lineup, including laptops, printers as well as AI software and security innovations designed to address what the company sees as a persistent and costly problem in modern workplaces. The company has also expanded workflow automation through Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) enhancements as well as OMEN AI game support and enhanced OMEN Gaming Hub capabilities.

“We’re showing how that comes to life through solutions that work together, securely and seamlessly, so our customers can do their best work wherever work happens,” said Bruce Broussard, Interim CEO of HP Inc.

HP IQ: New intelligence layer

The centrepiece of HP’s announcements is HP IQ — a new on-device intelligence layer designed to orchestrate work across HP AI PCs, workplace devices, and meeting spaces using local AI and proximity-based connectivity. HP says that unlike cloud-dependent AI assistants, HP IQ runs locally on the device, offering an advantage for enterprises with data security requirements.

HP IQ will debut on the next generation of HP EliteBook X G2 AI PCs, and its initial feature set covers the most common pain points of the modern knowledge worker:

  • Ask IQ

responds to text and voice inputs, surfacing contextual answers and guidance without requiring the user to switch applications.

  • Notes & Knowledge

maintains a running record of interactions, organising notes so they can be searched and shared.

  • Meeting Agent

captures ideas and records notes during meetings without forcing participants to context-switch away from the conversation.

HP IQ can be configured and deployed through the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) or through standard enterprise management tools including Microsoft Intune.

HP NearSense: Making devices ‘talk’ to each other

HP also introduced HP NearSense – a spatial intelligence feature that allows nearby HP devices to discover, connect, and collaborate with each other automatically. NearSense enables what HP describes as the easiest and most secure PC-to-PC file sharing solution available, users can simply drag and drop documents, images, and presentations to a colleague’s nearby device instantly, with no cables, no cloud upload, and no manual pairing.

HP plans to extend NearSense capabilities across its broader ecosystem over time, including HP Poly video conferencing solutions, printers, desktops, workstations, and peripherals.

The EliteBook 6 G2q launched for AI-powered work

For professionals who need serious AI computing power in a portable form factor, HP unveiled the EliteBook 6 G2q, a next-generation AI PC that the company is positioning as its flagship device for advanced and agentic AI workflows.

The device is powered by Snapdragon X2 Elite and X2 Plus processors, delivering up to 85 TOPS of NPU performance. HP said it is working with more than 100 independent software vendor partners to optimise applications for the device’s local AI capabilities, including Rakuten, Goodnotes, and Guidde.

The chassis is claimed to be upto 15% thinner than the previous generation, in a Glacier Silver finish, and includes physical intrusion detection that powers down the device and protects memory if the chassis is opened. HP also expanded its commercial lineup with AMD and Intel options.

HP TPM Guard: World’s first hardware defence against BitLocker bypass

HP unveiled HP TPM Guard, claiming that it is the world’s first hardware solution capable of stopping physical TPM bus attacks, a specific class of attack that can bypass BitLocker drive encryption by intercepting the communication between the Trusted Platform Module and the CPU.

HP TPM Guard introduces an encrypted link between the TPM and CPU, and cryptographically binding the TPM to the specific device.

HP also announced expanded HP Wolf Security capabilities, tightening integration between its Workforce Experience Platform, Wolf Security, and enterprise architecture to reduce both operational overhead and cyber risk.

HP launches printers with quantum-resistant security

HP’s printer announcements at Imagine 2026 reflect two converging trends: the need to accelerate document digitisation in hybrid work environments, and the emerging threat that quantum computing poses to traditional encryption methods.

The HP LaserJet Pro 4000/4100 Series, aimed at small and growing businesses, is notable for being the world’s first SMB printer with quantum-resistant security. HP says that the series also offers up to 25% lower print costs through TerraJet Toner technology and comes with a three-year warranty.

For larger enterprises, the HP LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 Series combines high-speed printing and scanning with AI-powered features including Scan AI Enhanced and Editable OCR, which HP says can reduce manual document processing time by up to 50%.

HP Z workstations: Built demanding AI workloads

For professionals working at the absolute frontier of AI development, visual effects, and simulation, HP announced the next generation of its HP Z Workstations. The flagship HP Z8 Fury supports up to four NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q GPUs alongside next-generation Intel workstation processors.

Complementing the Z8 Fury is the HP Max Side Panel – an industry-first chassis expander that is claimed to increase internal volume by 15%, allowing users to install larger graphics cards tool-free while maintaining thermal performance. It is available for both the Z8 Fury and the Z4 workstation. HP also updated its mobile workstation lineup with the HP ZBook X G2i, ZBook 8 G2i, and ZBook 8 G2a.

Meanwhile, HP’s Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) received a significant update at the event, adding capabilities designed to move enterprise IT from reactive troubleshooting to proactive, AI-driven operations. HP expanded its construction industry ecosystem, connecting HP DesignJet multifunction printers, HP Build Workspace, and HP Z Workstations to create a bridge between digital design and on-site execution.

Finally, coming to gaming, HyperX OMEN is going bigger and smarter. The flagship HyperX OMEN MAX 45L desktop ships with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 270K Plus and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, paired with second-generation Cryo Chamber cooling and modular expandability. The HyperX OMEN 35L offers a more accessible but still highly customisable high-performance alternative.
